That’s it. It’s been confirmed. There is no more wondering. It has been declared a fact. The outdoors has actually taken over my life!

Here is some of the evidence:

If it is lashing down with rain I will find an excuse to just pop out for a bit of fresh air when the rest of the household are quite content doing indoor things.

The type of vehicle that I drive is dictated by the amount of kit/kids that I have to transport.

Clothes shopping is much more fun if it’s Rab, Merino or North Face rather than Zara, Oasis or New Look.

A little light reading is not the Sunday papers but a Dartmoor map or Trail magazine.

Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind this invasion in the slightest. I am very happy with life but just found myself wondering how this had snuck up on me so soundlessly. If I’m not careful I will soon find myself camping out in the garden on a regular basis and walking the 8 miles to work and back every day.

So, a word of caution: be careful what you get yourself into, it may well end up taking over your life too.
