There are many proverbs that are in everyday usage and there seems to be a good number that include Spring and in particular the month of March. Here are a few interesting ones:

1. Mad as a March hare. Apparently hares behave in a mad way during their mating season (March) with activities such as boxing and jumping excitedly.

2. March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. This one is accurate so far with the biting winds that we’ve had for the last couple of days.

3. March winds and April showers bring forth May flowers. Self explanatory!

4. March brings breezes loud and shrill, to stir the dancing daffodil. Wordsworth would be proud of this one.

It seems that some of them are about the March winds and being mad. I guess this will apply to the Two Blondes on Friday night as we camp out on the moors with 3 minibuses full of kids!!!!
