To be honest I could have taken a picture of me wearing my new Rab vest (I prefer gilet) on any day since the purchase a couple of weeks ago. It is so comfortable and cosy, I have found it hard to take off. The picture above was taken by Blonde One in our favourite shop – Cotswold Outdoor Exeter. A purchase like this one is expensive (especially for an impoverished, cellar dwelling author), and I needed Mr B2’s approval; hence the slightly ‘don’t I look lovely in this’ pose.
He had seen it on me before, I had first spotted it on a similar trip with him. He knew that I:
a) Liked the colour very much (it has a brighter pink lining!)
b) Liked the fit very much (it curves where I curve!)
c) Was pleased not to be trying on a gentlemen’s version (which is what usually happens.)
d) Was particularly excited by the size number on the label (well done Rab!!)
You might purely be interested in knowing that my new purchase is very warm, flattering and goes with lots of my other clothes (outdoor and ‘girl’).
But if you are need more info about this down-filled wonder, here it is:
Lightweight, micro baffled, down filled vest.
Minimum weight and packsize (245g).
A windproof, water-repellent and durable Pertex Microlight outer shell.
Two zipped handwarmer pockets (already well used!)
Zipped chest pocket that doubles as a stuffsac.
Insulated zip baffle,
750 fill hydrophobic European goose down (which I hope doesn’t mean there are now 750 chilly geese somewhere in Europe!)
PS Did I mention that I really like it?
