I took a little wander along the Torbay seafront on Saturday. The sea was temptingly splashy and one brave chap was swimming but I wasn’t suitably unclad so I concentrated on enjoying my stroll.

You expect to see certain things on a beach, maybe shells, seaweed and wet dogs. You expect to see certain things in the woods, maybe acorns, fallen leaves and more wet dogs. But you don’t expect to find seaweed in the woods (I didn’t find any) or fallen leaves on the beach (I did find some).

There was a strange kind of contrast between the soggy seaweed greens and the crisp browns and oranges of the leaves. I am not allowed to use the word ‘juxtaposition’ (you’ll have to ask Blonde One why) but I think it would have been apt.
