‘Secret Santa Suggestions’: how’s that for a nice piece of alliteration?

It has got to that time of year when every office worker across the country starts to dread the Secret Santa ritual. You know how it goes: draw a name out of a hat, spend £5 or under on a gift for the person that you really don’t know that well, then open your own gift while trying to keep a grateful smile on your face. You then spend the next year trying not to mention how disappointed you were with your diary and address book set which had clearly been a rejected Secret Santa gift previously! My place of work has tried to liven up the process in the past. We’ve had a ban on food and drink, we’ve extended the price limit to £10, we’ve insisted on humorous presents. This year we have invented a new rule which we hope will liven it up a bit. The gift this year has to have the same initials as the recipient. There may well be liquorice allsorts, lime almonds or a leather (photo) album for me. What would you hope for?
