You might feel a bit sorry for someone who has the surname of Gore. It certainly differs from Miss Honey from Dahl’s Matilda!
I have used the name Gore many times, as I am sure you have too, in the context of having a Gore-Tex jacket, without ever giving the name a thought. I recently wondered where the name Gore-Tex came from and used the internet to answer my question. It revealed that Bob Gore invented it! He is an American inventor, engineer and scientist who can be credited with the revolution in the walking industry. The breathable waterproof coats that we probably all have in our wardrobes are there thanks to this incredible invention.
Thanks so much Mr Gore from a very dry Two Blondes Walking.
