Our lovely walk around the village of Ilsington took us past the Five Cross junction. This was a square ticked off from B2’s Dartmoor 365 book so it was already a place of interest. We discovered more than we bargained for as it turned out to be a hub of information for the house nearby. The post box seemed a little incongruous at first with its bright red paint but we soon realised that the contrast of all of the three elements overlooked by the old tree were perfectly suited. The sign post had seen better days and was at a height suitable for Christmas Elves. The old mile stone/boundary marker reassured us that the sign post was still pointing to the right destination. We decided that Five Cross was a very useful location indeed.
