A recent visit to the south west corner of Dartmoor revealed a lot more than I had anticipated. I discovered a fabulous stone circle at Brisworthy. The site was made especially beautiful because of the superb weather. It was one of those crisp clear autumn days that gave one a sense of well-being and peace. I sat for a while at the circle and just enjoyed the solitude and the amazing views across to Legis Tor. A short walk north took me to a cairn circle and stone row that were well worth exploration too.

As you can see from the screenshot Brisworthy stone circle is a stone’s throw from the road and so is very easily accessible for a quick walk for an hour or two.

The bonus for the day was that this circle is one of the squares in the Dartmoor 365 book! Ideal.
