Hello Sunday people. Yesterday, if you remember, I set off to Dartmoor on a mission to find out if Christmas had arrived or not. I had a head-clearing walk in sunshine and cold, fresh air to the secret location. There was a hill …………. and some friendly ramblers and that is all I am going to tell you about where the Christmas tree is. If you can read a map and yesterday’s blog, you will be able to find it.
The exciting news is that decoration of the tree has started and it has two baubles and some tinsel so far. I did have to pick up the remains of one broken bauble, so if you locate the tree and want to join in (difficult to resist I would say), please make sure that you come back after Christmas to clear up any leftovers.
I sat under the tree and drank a cup of tea from my flask, ate two satsumas and then, in the spirit of Christmas, broke into my emergency chocolate ration (again!). I have a bit of a tendency to be a humbug at Christmas time – it all seems like a lot of work – but I have to confess to a rather loud rendition of God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen as I walked away with a Christmas smile on my face.
