If you have a spare afternoon up until Tuesday 2nd October then we can’t recommend highly enough the Exhibition of Dartmoor 365 which is being held at the Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centre in Princetown. The exhibition celebrates the much loved Dartmoor 365 book written by John Hayward. It was a genius idea to get people visiting every single one of the 365 square miles of Dartmoor. Each square has a feature to explore; some are obvious such as a bridge and some are harder to spot. It’s a great way of making you explore new places, as the Two Blondes have found on many occasions. Our Dartmoor walks have often been planned around this book.
The exhibition is free and you don’t need to book. What’s not to love? You could even go for a quick cuppa at our favourite cafe: Foxtor.
Enjoyed the exhibition – though Broughy was a bit worried about the presence of the Hound of the Baskervilles in one corner and kept a very firm eye on him. Personally, I think Sherlock Holmes needs some lessons in folding his clothes neatly in his trunk.I loved the 365 picture done in photos mounted on blocks of the right contour height – what an energetic time the photographer had!
The videos were well worth watching, incidentally. Dogs are welcome and my old boy was very glad of the carpeting to stop his legs sliding around!
I have suspicion that Mr Holmes was a bit of a domestic nightmare. We loved the blocks too, such a good idea!
