Why Salomon Quest 4D walking boots are good
I am a big fan of all things Salomon. You know when you find a brand that just fits well with your taste and your size, that you can rely on each piece of outdoor gear being as good as the last. That’s what I’ve come to find with Salomon. These Quest 4D boots are no exception. They have been tested on a long Ten Tors training day on Dartmoor and I came back to the minibus with feet as comfy as when I set out. I’m not used to having a boot so high up my ankle so I was worried that they would be uncomfortable but I needn’t have been. After a few minutes out walking I didn’t even notice that they were higher than my normal boots, and the cushioning made sure my feet stayed happy all day.
The soles provided a secure enough grip to cope with the slippery lichen covered granite of Dartmoor while still feeling light enough for me to be confident hopping over the rocks. A perfect combination.
I’ve learned with Salomon that a size bigger than normal is a better fit for me; luckily these go up to quite large sizes for women’s boots.
