We are all loving the local walks at the moment as a way to catch up with family and friends. The Blonde One family had a jam packed day recently which involved: ferries, doggy ice cream and Italian gardens, amongst other things.
We met at Stonehouse in Plymouth: a recently smartened up area which used to be home to many Naval buildings but now houses all sorts of water front restaurants. The little Cremyll Ferry transported us across the Hanoaze which is an estuarine stretch of the River Tamar. The 10 minute journey was clearly very popular as we shared our trip with lots of others with the same idea as us.
We had a lovely walk in the gardens of Mount Edgcumbe which has the best lawn I’ve ever seen. It was just crying out to be rolled down (although I did resist the temptation)! There were a couple of shops and cafes open which we had a mooch around and had a lovely outdoor lunch. Ollie the Collie found out that he was a big fan of Scoop’s doggy ice cream. All in all it was the most lovely day which I can highly recommend as a way to blow any cobwebs away or even a post Christmas full tummy!
