We Blondes have told you about our love of the Dartmoor 365 book before http://wp.me/p2OiIR-hQ We still love it and are still slowly collecting squares.
On Saturday, I added my solo camp (three squares) and had a count up. I was very pleased to find out that I have finally reached the half-way mark with a grand total of 182 of Dartmoor’s square miles now visited.
I have covered much of the central moor, but seem to have a walking block about discovering the edge of Dartmoor. This situation needs sorting out, especially as there are lots of pubs there! There are some rather odd single blank squares in the middle of my coloured-in ones: Fices Well for example – I have no idea why I haven’t been there; or Crow Tor, I have gazed at its tank-like shape many times but never made the trip over. The cross at Dunstone (although apparently very easy to spot) remains uncoloured despite several Blonde attempts to find it http://wp.me/p2OiIR-vu
There are two maps in the Dartmoor 365 book. I use the other one to mark places that I have slept on the moor. Many, many nights, but surprisingly only 11 squares. This is because we tend to stick to tradition for Ten Tors nights; but I feel the situation should be rectified.
I will definitely complete all of my first map (Blonde determination); but to sleep on every part of Dartmoor may well prove too big a challenge. Who, for example, would choose to make their bed and lie in it at Grim’s Grave or in Crazywell Pool?
