Very close to the popular Hound Tor on Dartmoor is a much less visited cairn circle and kistvaen. It has been well preserved, presumably by the Dartmoor Preservation Association and is fairly intact. It’s well worth a visit and can be easily found just south of Hound Tor and the car park. The kistvaen in the middle of the stone ring is not particularly obvious as a kist but the feature as a whole still looks great.

As we’ve said before, it only takes a few minutes walk away from the car to find something fascinating that is well away from the usual busyness of the popular car parks.
