At the National Trust South West Outdoor Festival last month we got involved in all sorts of exciting things and chatted to some very interesting people. Lots of the other OS Champions were there and it was good to catch up with them and find out what they have been up to since we saw them last in February. One such Champion was Phoebe Smith. She is a fellow Blonde and is very much a woman after our own hearts. She has written several books, is the editor of an outdoorsy magazine and a very good public speaker. We listened to her speaking and were fascinated by her tales of adventure: big and small. She spoke about killer ants in Australia, cloud inversions in Wales and gaining a freedom and confidence that only being outdoors can provide. She had an engaging and relaxed manner, and we enjoyed listening to her tales.
