Ten Tors is a challenge. Some don’t reach their goal, some do. Emotions are intense for all who invested time and (lots) of energy into preparation. Sometimes we cry with the kids, sometimes we share their triumph. Always we are intensely proud of them.
This year has been no exception apart from the fact that I am sharing the experience with you. We’ll tell you more of the story another day. Today we have one crashed out team to look after and two to cheer across the line.
Time for a cup of Naafi coffee!
NAAFI Coffee – a hint to age!
NAAFI coffee brings back more recent experiences. At least in the “Hay Day” of the NAAFI, coffee was an indulgance pleasure apart from the shop coffee you only got the “real stuff” in a fancy tea room. I remember Cadena in Winchester!
Nowadays, I volunteer to contribute extra money for my coffee if the venue is serving that disgusting freeze dried granular stuff. With so much choice as to good instant coffee it is so very bad that penny pinching cost cutting ensures the survival of freeze dried coffee.
It’s time for a revolution ……….
Carlos
Now now, Carlos! Enjoy what YOU like – but leave me to enjoy what I like – nice little brown granules in a jar!
But what about “Camp Coffee” – was that ever army fodder? I always thought that it was.
Yes! And largely made of chicory I think! You can still buy it, too!
Had a fab afternoon seeing you all and all the kids come in. Want an amazing group of people – staff and kids!!!
