Anything goes on a Monday so, as you all head back to work, here’s something a little bit Blonde and a little bit outdoors to get you thinking.
The tors of Dartmoor are fascinating in many ways. This picture (just about) shows a little pool of water that has collected on the top of Rippon Tor. It is known as a rock basin and has been created by the freezing and warming of pools of water over time. As the years go by it will continue to get deeper. There is another train of thought that suggests that they are man-made features created by Druids for ceremonial use. I think I’ll go with the first theory.
Are you absolutely sure they weren’t excavated for swimming pools, by all those naughty yellow jelly babies that have gone astray over the years?
Of course… which just goes to show why bringing back the Jelly Baby Licence would be such a good idea!
