Local walks are not just about enjoying stunning nature. Although they have always been focused on enjoying the flora, the rivers, the skies and all things natural there is also beauty and interest to be found in man made things.

On this particular walk we found:

A very interesting way to decorate your fence: with old boots.

An old piece of farm machinery, who knows what it was for. It was slowly being swallowed by ivy.

A sign on a gate that was nearly as beautiful as the woodland beyond it. Honeywood was a perfectly named woodland.

Maybe not quite so pretty but certainly interesting was some sort of flood defence system that we never knew was there.

It’s amazing what you find when you look!
