Shilly-shallying
These ducks on the Isles of Scilly are regulars at Porthcressa beach and even have their own Facebook page. There are often found acting out the description in Norman MacCaig’s poem An Ordinary Day: ‘ducks shilly-shallied here and there on the shilly-shallying water’.
