My name is Blonde One and I love boots! There, I’ve said it. It’s out there that Blonde One is addicted to boots! I am not ashamed of it either. I have a very healthy collection of boots that all get their turn at being my favourite.
My new Keen Karraig boots are indeed my favourites; they have the most amazing lacing system that I’ve ever seen. I’m quite fussy about how I wear my boots. I like to have the bottom half of the laces done up pretty loosely with plenty of room to move my toes, while having the boots laced up quite tight around my ankles. In the past it has proved to be quite a tricky combination. I have often found that by the end of a long day on the hill the laces will have evened out and they are too tight at the bottom and too loose at the top!
These amazing Karraig boots have a unique lace system that locks the lace into place at just the right point for me: in between the loose bottom and tight top. It’s a bit difficult to explain but the third hook from the top has a kind of hinged clip that closes when the lace is pulled to the right tension. It’s such an easy system.
As well as the clever lacing system these boots have all that you would expect from a high quality pair of Keen footwear. They are waterproof, have a good grippy sole and very importantly, they look good. I went for the steel grey colour but the chestnut ones also look good.
