We parents have often heard the phrase, ‘I don’t want to go to bed.’
Well, on Saturday afternoon Blonde One and I were out collecting a few more Dartmoor 365 squares (six in total) when we noticed that the sun was refusing to get itself down below the horizon. At the time we were up on Mardon Down (northeast of Moretonhampstead) collecting a headless cross and a giant’s grave (as you do) and we decided to lend a helping hand.
We tried talking nicely to the sun…
We tried squeezing it between us…
But in the end, it took Blondes hands and lots of Blonde strength to squeeze the sun down behind the horizon…
No thanks necessary, all in the line of duty!
Did you have a tripod, or a friendy Dartmoor elf to hold the camera?
What do you have to do exactly to qualify for a “tick-off” for a square?
Well that is the absolute limit! I am definitely reporting this harrassment and cruelty to the Royal Society for the Protection of Suns, headquarters somewhere up in the middle of the Milky Way.
All very well, but in fact, due to atmospheric refraction and curvature of the earth, the sun had actually already set by the time you got your hands in position. However, this is a very beautiful set of pictures! x
