Something new for you – welcome to “Quote of the Week”.
Who said this (no internet cheating)?
“Had we lived, I should have had a tale to tell of the hardihood, endurance, and courage of my companions which would have stirred the heart of every Englishman.”
must be Scott
You definitely didn’t cheat – I can tell from your name that you wouldn’t. Well done, an extra ration of Jelly Babies for you!
Dammit Gimmer. You beat me to it. Definitely RFS.
You can both have extra Jelly Babies. I will have to find a trickier one next week but that is a definite favourite!
make mine pemmican (flavoured)
Conrad is a Shackelton man so would probably prefer coffee (flavour)
You probably weren’t around when I wrote this blog post on the subject … http://wp.me/s2OiIR-pemmican
I recently became more enthusiastic about Scott after reading Ranulph Fiennes’s ‘Scott” where he systematically and convincingly deconstructs some of the unfounded anti Scott stuff in Roland Huntford’s biography. “Scott” is a MUST read for anybody with the remotest interest in the subject. Fiennes writes well and knows what he is talking about.
