The battle between coffee and Ribena has been hard fought and much debated, but I am pleased to announce that there is a winner: Ribena! I am a truly dedicated coffee lover but on the moors it is not as useful as Ribena. Ribena has a certain ‘feel good’ factor when the chips are down and you have a miserable team member (as we found out yesterday), it contains sugar which is useful for a whole host of medical conditions, kids generally like it more than coffee and it can be happily drunk when cold. I think I will always feel a slight pang of longing when sipping Ribena but I’m happy to concede that as a leader the purple stuff is best!
As a tea drinker, I have to agree with Blonde One that is a tug of the heart to change the contents of my flask but the popularity of the Ribena yesterday was convincing and as it helped to keep the shivers down, well worth it.
Ribena every time, maybe with a dash of something else in it. Just for medicinal purposes mind. Honest!
A dash of something – now there is a nice idea. We will have to experiment (reaches for ginger wine bottle).
Next time the Two Blondes are out without kids I am definitely going to try this!
(Sorry for late reply – ICT issues – I am blonde after all.)
Ribena for me!!! Tea just doesn’t work in a flask, coffee is ok and hot chocolate nicely whisked in a jug with milk before pouring into the flask nearly wins, but ribena is just never a disappointment. And the dog likes it!!!!
I bet the dog does like it! Will he drink other brands of blackcurrant?
Must be a man thing (sorry if that’s a bit sexist!), but hot chocolate with a drop of honey when in cold weather, or tea in warmer stuff.
Chocolate and honey? Definitely a man thing … but maybe worth trying. The idea was to find something that kids would drink if they were in need of heating up (which they often are) – they would probably like your concoction!
