Visiting Valencia’s cathedral was an amazing experience just for sheer splendour of the building and the decorations. It was extremely ornate and filled with fascinating paintings and artefacts. We were there to see the Holy Grail. This is the cup that Jesus allegedly used at his Last Supper. There are 200 such objects, in Europe alone, that claim to be the Holy Grail, but it seems that this one is regarded as being the most likely to be the actual one. The cup itself was tiny but was surrounded by several archways which gave it a prominent presence in the cathedral. We, along with all the other visitors, were in awe of what we saw. I’m glad that we went. Valencia itself is a beautiful city but this visit was the icing on the cake of a very lovely day out.
