I am very pleased to be able to report that the Swincombe Bridge which has been reconstructed after engineers deemed the original unsafe, is back and as lovely as ever. It has always been locally known as the Fairy Bridge as there used to be fairies living under it. The Two Blondes have seen these fairies so we know it’s true! On a recent trip I was eager to check out the new bridge to see how it looked but I was more interested to know if the fairies were back too. Alas, they were not. Does this mean the bridge is the Non-Fairy Bridge or the Un-Fairy Bridge? It will always be known in my mind as the Fairy Bridge so I can only hope that the fairies reappear soon. I will check every now and then and let you know.
