By: Blonde One

As you may remember Little Miss Blonde and Numbers (aka 2 Wander) went off on their travels in October. They have visited many places and had such fantastic experiences that have created memories that will last a lifetime. I’m very pleased (and relieved) to say that they’re back. Their stay back in Devon is short-lived and they soon move onto their next adventure, but more of that another time. Here’s a short summary of their trip to South East Asia:

Countries visited, 5: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Laos, Philippines.

Unfriendly creatures who’ve taken a bit out of them, 4: leeches, spiders, jellyfish, mosquitoes.

Eaten too may weird and wonderful dishes to list.

Forms of transport used, 8: bus, boat, plane, cycle, moped, tuk-tuk, car, jeep.

Met too many interesting people to list.

Forms of accommodation slept in, 5: tent, hotel, hostel, bungalow, beach hut.

Visited too many temples and museums to list.

Up close to exotic creatures, 5: bears, elephants, whale sharks, monkeys, thresher sharks.

Learned lots of historical facts that they feel strongly should be on the UK school curriculum!

The tales that they are telling on their return are fantastic and have confirmed that this trip has been worth every bit of hard work to get them there, and every bit of worry from the families who patiently (well, mostly patiently) waited at home for their return. I’m not sure if they are different in any way now they are back. I sort of expected Little Miss Blonde to come back a different person, but actually she didn’t need to change; she was already decisive, determined and courageous.

Watch this space (and this one: 2wander.net) for details of their next adventures!
