Two Blondes and a Wild Night Out… sounds like something we really shouldn’t be blogging about doesn’t it. However, this Wild Night Out has been fully sanctioned by our good friends Ordnance Survey and rather than raucous behaviour, all night dancing and skimpy clothing, is far more likely to include giggling, all night zipping and plenty of clothing.
Wild Night Out is all about doing something fun, adventurous and outside whilst raising money for charity. I am sure you agree, this is a doubly good idea, especially when you understand that the two charities this year are the Youth Adventure Trust and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
There are lots of options of ways to Get Outside and have a Wild Night Out. We are planning to wild camp or maybe bivvy or maybe both (it has been done before!) but obviously this is new to us. We are looking for a little added challenge for our Wild Night Out so if you have any ideas do let us know. Maybe we could do a bit of glamping… or go ultra lightweight (I am going to have to because I am not supposed to be carrying a rucksack yet!) Being out in the wild in the dark will be a novelty for me after all of that midnight sun in Norway.
Whatever we end up doing and wherever we end up camping I am sure we will have a great Wild Night Out made even more fun by the knowledge that there will be lots of you out there, all doing the same and all Getting Outside!
I think you should do a night-time paddle from Pooley Bridge to Patterdale, (or in reverse direction;) that would make a lovely adventure.
