By: Blonde Two
Monday was a special outing for the Two Blondes. Was it our birthdays? – No. Had one of us just won the lottery? – Wrong. Had we both been given Haribo Jackets? – Sadly not. No, Blondees and Blondettes, on Monday, for the first time ever, it was sunny enough for the Two Blondes to go out for a walk wearing their brand new Two Blondes T-Shirts.
Now some of you might argue that matching t-shirts is a bit sad and just one step away from anoraks and train spotting. I would argue differently – we are proud of our Two Blondeness and are keen to let as many people as possible know about what we have been up to. There is a problem with this though – our identity has been kept secret so far from the youngsters we work with. We are keen to keep things this way – it is quite nice having an alter-ego. Our alter-egos can be just that bit sillier, just that bit chattier and just that little bit blonder than our real selves.
The upshot of this is that we can only wear our lovely shirts when we are out on our own – kind of stealth t-shirt wearing (a bit like stealth Guinness but not as tasty). It was a good experience, here come the Two Blondes, stomping their way across Dartmoor, navigators extraordinaire, mistresses of all that they survey. I am not sure how many people noticed the t-shirts, I got a bit chilly trying to keep my fleece off for as long as possible. One older lady was very smily at us from her car so we obviously presumed that she was one of our long-standing fans.
Wearing your logo across your front is an interesting experience (probably more so for a lady). People have to look at it for a bit longer than is strictly polite in order to read it. We had a lot of fun with this “chest” factor. It has been a long, long time since either of us came back from the bar to a girl friend asking “Well, did he look at your chest?”
Glad the sun is shining for you…at long last, Any sign of the LDWA walkers doing their 100 mile annual yomp? With a route covering the bit in-between the Camel (Camel Estuary start) and the Teign (Teign Estuary finish) they’ll need the good weather!
Enjoy the weather. It’s lovely here in Timperley but it’s going to rain tomorrow.
Ho hum.

Yes! We are camped opposite a checkpoint and have chatted to a few. Impressive!
LWDA – translation please? Sounds fun.
You would love it – Long Distance Walkers’ Association. They did look tired poor lambs. 48 hours, 100 miles. http://www.ldwa.org.uk/challenge_events/show_event.php?event_id=11029
Wow!
Oops, sorry – LDWA. Translation, please?
